Mark Hensley began his scientific career as a molecular biologist, working on viral vectors for gene therapy. Exposure to the clinical trial environment through that work drew him from the bench into developing expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics, and clinical trial design.

While traditional clinical trial design often relies on well-established methods, these approaches don’t always optimize budget, subject risk, or statistical power. Upon recognition of opportunity for improvement to this inflexible old guard approach, Mark launched Hensley Biostats consulting firm with the mission of carefully optimizing studies simultaneously rooted in industry best practices.

What began as a solo practice offering clinical trial design, statistical analysis, and scientific writing has grown into a dynamic and expanding team supporting biotech and medical research across diverse therapeutic areas. We bring cross-disciplinary expertise, rigorous statistical thinking, and a commitment to collaboration and clear communication.
